Spiritually guided life-force energy

Since 1984, it has been my privilege to practise the art of Reiki healing. I was shown how to allow “ki” (or “chi,” the “breath of life,” “prana” to flow through me, from its source (“the ground of being”, “Creator,” “Spirit,” or God, truly depending on your belief system), to you. Perfect health is our birthright, and Reiki is a wonderful way to regain that gift. It is not necessary for you to have a particular set of beliefs - all I ask is your permission. A Reiki session is often done in person, with my hands close to your body, though healing can also be sent from a distance.

In January, 2000, I received my Reiki Master training. Though I consider myself still a student on the journey to Mastery, the title means that I can teach others to share in this gift. I have watched in wonder as literally hundreds of my students awakened to their abilities. Some have been so transformed that they have chosen to continue to the next levels. I have also been lucky enough to be allowed to conduct the Master training of several loving, caring healers who have brought with them the wisdom of their previous teachers and the insights gained from their own years of practice.

Reiki was originally a system of personal spiritual growth, exemplified by the precepts of the Meiji Emperor. Dr. Usui, the originator of the Reiki system that was passed on to me, called these “the secret art of inviting blessings, the spiritual medicine of all diseases:”

Just for today, do not anger.
Do not worry, and be filled with gratitude.
Devote yourself to your work.
Be kind to all people.

We are further advised:

Every morning and evening, join your hands in prayer.
Pray these words in your heart and chant these words with your mouth.

[In other words, you might want to recite the precepts, in order to remind yourself of the inner work which allows us to be present in the here-and-now, where healing can happen.]

The practice of Reiki does not require belief in any system of religion; rather, it requires a willingness to put aside the desires of our ego and allow healing to take place.
What is a treatment like?
You may lie down, make yourself comfortable, close your eyes if you want to. You will remain fully clothed, though you may want to remove shoes, glasses, watch or jewelry. My hands may rest gently on the areas that need healing, or they may move a few inches from your body. You may feel a flow of energy, or just a deep relaxation. Many of my clients report a sense of well-being or immediate relief of symptoms. The sessions can be as short as 15 to 30 minutes, or as long as is needed. We can talk and focus on emotional release, or we can let the healing proceed quietly.

Reiki is both powerful and gentle, treating the whole person, including body, emotions, mind and spirit. It has aided in healing virtually every known physical illness and injury, from serious acute or chronic problems to minor aches and pains. It is also very effective for depression, anxiety, insomnia, lack of confidence, or to maintain wellness, relieve stress, overcome unwanted habits and achieve goals. Reiki helps you be who you truly are - a perfect, joyous human being. Thank you for sharing this journey with me.
